Can I pick two? icon_scratch.gif 200-300 and 300-400? I have owned many cars with small block Chevy engines, from 267CI to 400CI, and they have all been good to me. thumbsup.gif

As far as power I like the 400-500. It can be a 400 out of a GTO, a 440 out of a MOPAR or a 454 in a Chevy. For reliability which has been proven over the years the Chevy 350 is hard to beat.

My favorite engine was the 289 in my ’67 Mustang.

Had more than enough power and was reliable.

My next favorite was the 318 in my ’71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring.

Same reasons as the Mustang engine. :D

The biggest engine I had was a 400 in my ’71 Galaxy.

That engine had very poor power for some reason.

IT would make sense if it was around ’77 or in the ’80’s not sure why ’71 would.

Gonna be a plain ol’ 350 for me.

Produced by the millions, parts everywhere, dirt cheap to build and modify, and has GREAT power potential when built right. They can be built for low RPM lugging, or high RPM screaming. 400hp is not hard to hit with a 350 or 383(350 based) small chevy.
