Does this mean no Monroe Car Show?

I am guessing that it will.
The balloon fest was put on by the Chamber of Commerce and the Car Show was just a part of many events and activities, but everything centered around the balloon fest.
This was a very nice show, run very well, in an ideal setting. I am saddened to see this one go away for 2009.

I’m sure this is one of many things that will get cancelled this summer.
I keep hearing it has to get worse before it gets better…. how much worse can it get???
Monroe is a car town, if the show gets cancelled by the Chamber I would bet someone else picks up where they left off.
I would think they could still have that Taste of Monroe with the Car Show associated with it. I think your right, someone will pick up the car show for this year.
I have an important update on this show. I was contacted by the organizer of this show and they are going to go ahead with a “Balloon Cruise” instead of a full-fledged show this year:
Quote:This year we are not going to have an official car show. We are instead inviting car collector’s to go on a “Balloon Cruise”. We will have a large area on the mid-way of the Green County Fair Grounds reserved for classic cars.This is a year in which we are trying to save the event, but are not able to support a full carshow experience as we have in the past.
The fairgrounds will be the site of all of the weekend activities. The event is Saturday, June 20th.
Regarding the Taste of Monroe and downtown carshow. That may return in late July or early August 2010. If not then the rally would consider hosting a full car show as we move forward.
