Is anyone doing any projects on their garage this year?

I still don’t have my interior walls finished off, but I’ve been reorganizing and relocating shelves, cabinets, etc. I also added a new used 13 drawer roller toolbox, that way all of my tools can be in one spot for once. Have to paint one half of the concrete floor that has been poisoned by oil spots from the last couple of cars I’ve had :)

Have you considered putting in a garage flooring on top of the concrete? I think Tailored Living has some nice products:

I like there flooring options, but I’m sure the price is healthy. I’m going to use concrete paint right now to make the floor look better, and help control the dust. Of course, with a gravel driveway right now, I’ll still have dust

I used some of the two part Rust Oleum on my basement floor and am very impressed with how it turned out. I’m a little worried about doing my garage floor though. I’m thinking about using their professional grade two part ($90) with a clear coat might work. Thorough prep and anti slip mixed in is gonna be key though I think…

Welcome to the forum fokus83. THe toughest part of doing a garage floor is getting the surface clean enough. What is the best way to clean a garage floor?

I’ve been told to make sure you acid etch any oil spots prior to painting. I’ve also been told to use quikcrete in powder form to lift the oil residue from the concrete floors.

That’s an interesting idea – I never would have thought to try that
