Man it has been bash on GM day threwout the news.
GM saw it coming, it just came faster then expected since the panic attack everyone is having over rising costs of living. Everyone knew the market was shifting to smaller and more fuel efficient models it’s just now that GM must hurry up it’s plan to keep pace.
They close some plants and talk of opening new ones but the mention on the news is all about the ceasing of production. They mention cutting certain models but no mention on the news of the new production lines opening up and new models being produced.
Diamond Doyle manages to throw the blame at everyone in the news conference yet inside I have to wonder if he was jumping for joy. He has made it known he is all on the climate change wagon so the death of the SUV in Janesville must please him. Maybe now he will go after Toyota since they have the Sequoia. Ugh, I hate myself for allowing to be pulled into the political talk of this and bitch about Doyle. He is just so full of &*^% when he talks about helping the workers. He did such a wonderful job when my wifes plant moved out of State.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Janesville retooled and stay open. GM has some cool models on the planning block and I hope they stick around Wisco. Sad to see the Tahoe and Burb go, great freaking SUV’s.
Hummer, I’ve always liked them. They have thier place and customer base but sales drop so maybe a retooling and model change and they will stick around. The H3 could be a good candidate for the two-mode Hybrid, even the H2 since it is allready on the Silverado chassis which has it.
