Help Locating a Car by the VIN

I have been trying to locate my first car, a 1966 Mustang that I sold in Feb. 1992. I searched through the North Carolina DMV but they do not have any info of who I sold it to since I sold it out of state. I am wanting to try to locate the current owner of the car, if it is still around, and try to purchase it. Do you know of any services that locate old cars this way? All of the services I have tried require a 17 digit VIN number and since the car was a 1966 it has a 11 digit number. The VIN number is 6T07C203995. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
