    Specific Ratings (A-F):

First off, Congratulations to Rachel for her best Stock car of show award ( 6 foot tall trophy; I wonder how she got it home?) and to Andrew for his VFW Commander pick award (I think it was also a 6 footer; the funny thing is Andrew early in the day was telling me about the top options on the T-bird and they were not going to bother with putting the top up, which was a requirement for judging, but the old Commander knew what he was looking for!).

Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – B. I saw one big sign where Packers branches off to Northport, but that was it. When I arrived I saw a mustang fly by the VFW, stop and pull a u-turn to get back. So there were no signs at the entrance (not a big deal for me since I lived on that side of town for 20 years).

Parking Location – B. Grass. Wet in the morning, a little muddy if you spun a tire, but what do you expect with all the rain we have been getting? No one to park you.

Class Organization – B-. They tried, but since they reduced their area (due to the soggyness earlier in the week, the class parking spots for many of the classes were small (like 8-10 spots). But they had plenty of overflow space (it just made it a bit harder on the judges)

Trophies & Prizes – B. Yup, lots of nice trophies, and the prizes were beer and liquor t-shirts and hats.

Food – B+. Breakfast in the morning, 5 bucks got you an omelet, toast, hash browns and bacon. If you made it before the normal 10:30 after church rush the wait time was pretty quick due to the small grill they have. Other then that, they had the normal burgers, brats, dogs and soda and water.

Entertainment – B+. I liked the guy in spring green better, but the two ladies doing the announcing did a nice job. Where I was parked at I couldn’t here a dang thing (their wireless speaker set-up would of been nice for this). Music selection, 25% of it was from the 80’s, 90’s and even a few songs from past couple of years.

Judging – They did it. I’m not sure how many folks they called who came to the show to help Judge. It seemed like there was a lot of them. Marshall was one of them so maybe he can comment on it.

Dash Plaque – A. real nice with a real car photo on it.

Variety of Cars – A. A bit of everything, from tuners, to low ride trucks to motorcycles. There were about 250 cars that showed up.

Bathrooms – D. For a show this size you would think they would of had some porta johns out? I walked into the VFW once to use the bathroom and there was a line of 10 guys waiting. And there was no line for the ladies. So out the door I went to find a bush to water (I saw many other guys doing the same thing throughout the day).

    Weather – A. Perfect.

Trophy Presentation Timing – B. They were about 15 minutes late, but I think they were caught a bit off guard due to the number of cars that came.

Entry Fee – 10 bucks. pretty normal.

    Overall Rating:B

This is the first time for this show at this site. I was surprised for a show of this size, how few people seemed to helping out with it (I would be surprised if there were more then 8 folks running it not counting the folks making the food). My suggestions for improvement are:

    1. sign at the main entrance
    2. porta johns
    3. wireless speakers
    4. some door prizes that relate to cars
    5. trash cans at various locations

This show grew this year, and I would bet that it will be bigger next year, due to the fact that it is near Madison.

I certainly agree with the info already posted. There are some details that need to be tweaked to make this an even better show next year. First and foremost, someone needs to be onsite to park the cars and direct cars into the show grounds. My biggest issue is the porta toilets. It will be necessary to have several located on the grounds for next years show.

I did volunteer to judge and I was called up, but there were plenty of others who also stepped up, so I wasn’t needed after all.

Special congrats to Rachael for an awesome win and also to Andrew. Great Job!

Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – B I didn’t see a sign but I know where it is.
Parking Location – B+ It was about as goog as it could be on grass and after all that rain
Class Organization – B Could of been more room in a class but was probably because of the rain issues

Food – A- Nice to have breakfast available
    Entertainment – B+
    Judging – B
    Dash Plaque – B
    Variety of Cars – B

Thanks everyone! To say I was shocked to win that award is a huge understatement! I didn’t think I was going to win anything due to the amount of quality cars there, let alone Best of Show!!! Thankfully my cousin was there with his race car and his wife showed up later in the day so they were able to take the award home for us. It certainly wouldn’t fit in the Chevelle! :)

I agree with all the comments already made also. From what I understand there was a misunderstanding with the portapotties in that HOH thought the VFW was taking care of them and the VFW thought the opposite. I’m sure they will get that fixed next year! I stood guard while Steve used the women’s restroom, I’m sure he wasn’t the only one throughout the day! I know Lance worked hard on this show and will improve next year. The door prizes do need some work, but that’s what suggestions are for.

I also didn’t care for the women taking care of music. They played a good selection but at times seemed unsure of themselves and didn’t know the cars that well. It’s all a learning experience!

    Again, thanks!
