How custom logos are preferred by businesses

Since I have been running my business I have observed that there been many changes in the business world along time. But some things have remained the same as well. For example the importance of logos have always been there but how businesses now use customized logos to relate to their target audiences is something that wasn’t there before. A custom logo design in UK or anywhere else in the world for that matter is used only to stand out and be unique by business organizations. What other reasons might there be for the use of custom logos?
