Turned on the heat yesterday… I didn’t want to, but the kids were chilly and with colds already in the house, I didn’t need to help anything along! I was hoping Jefferson would be nice as my husband has swap stalls, but of course it’s not meant to be! Can we erase most of the weather this summer and start over? It was either HOT or raining! dontknow.gif
September 21, 2006 at 3:47 am #26855AnonymousInactiveDoing fine fine myself, and you? The site looks great! I have been busy with work the past month and haven’t had much time off, but last weekend I did manage to slip away from work and take the family to an old gas engine and tractor show 20 minutes from the house. I had to get away from the big NOPI event at Atlanta Motor Speedway (about two miles away from my place) Actually being at work for most of the weekend I didn’t notice if the traffic and driving antics were as bad as in past years for the Nopi show.
It’s nice to have a little time to relax and check out a couple of my favorite sites, but the yard work is getting backed up.
September 21, 2006 at 4:00 am #26856GaribaldiKeymasterIt certainly isn’t hot weather anymore. Jefferson isn’t looking good, but I guess you can never really expect the weather to be great for either Jefferson show. At least there probably won’t be any snow!!
@Zapper, how was the show? How many vehicles did they have there? Sounds like fun! I’ve been working a lot too, it never ends eh? I’m doing well though otherwise, just busy. You may have noticed that I’ve been unusually absent from the forum the past couple of days, except for the occasional post. This is because I’m working on a big new feature for the site, its getting close to being done and I think it will be a pretty cool thing once finished. I’ll let everybody in on some more details soon!September 22, 2006 at 4:02 am #26857montefrazerParticipantDoing good. Fixed the exhaust on the daily driver yesterday and cut the grass today. Still hoping for reasonable weather one day this weekend for Jefferson. sunny.gif this would be nice, but I’ll settle for no rain one day.

That is the main thing.
October 28, 2006 at 1:18 am #26863AnonymousInactiveFor me, it’s been a rather depressing couple of weeks.
A close friend and co-worker’ son was critically injured in a motorcycle accident last week, and was in a coma for several days before passing away. This fine young man was only 24 when he passed away, and the visitation and funeral last Thursday and Friday took it’s toll on me and everyone else who knew him. It is true, the good do die young. Then, on Saturday of last week, Jim Normington passed away and his funeral was this past Tuesday. Jim had hundreds of friends and acquaintances and the turn-out for his service was awesome!
Somebody remind me of how many weeks it will be until Spring Jefferson and the first car show of the 2007 season.

October 28, 2006 at 5:44 am #26864GaribaldiKeymasterI’m very sorry to hear that Marshall! That is definitely a tragedy, making it alll the more worse seeing as how young he was. Was he an avid bike rider?
So you went to Jim Normington’s service? How was it? It sounds like there were a lot of his car friends there, probably some from his club as well. It was really a shock.
It looks like it is 24 weeks until our first planned car show/event of the year – I’ll give you more details about that soon! Spring Jefferson is two weeks after that, the 28th-29th, so 26 weeks until Spring Jeff. Its featuring Chevelles
October 28, 2006 at 12:38 pm #26865AnonymousInactiveNo, my friend’s son was not an avid rider. That’s what makes the tragedy even worse. He decided to take a day off from work, and got into the beer and alcohol and borrowed a bike from a friend. He wasn’t familiar with the bike, and he had been drinking, and he wasn’t wearing a helmet, and he was thrown off of the bike, resulting in head trauma.

October 28, 2006 at 2:14 pm #26866circletrackParticipantMarshall ~ Very sorry to hear that! It’s been a rough few weeks for many in the car hobby. We had a friend who attended many events with her Blue Corvette pass away earlier this month due to cancer, very sad. Let’s hope we’re all over this unfortunate “bump” in the road now.
Chevelles at Jefferson! Yahoo!!! blob1.gif
October 28, 2006 at 4:42 pm #26867GTO ManModeratorSorry to hear that Marshall. It is too bad for someone that young to have their life ended, especially when there was no need for it.

Sorry to hear about the friend. What year Corvette did she have? Was she the one mentioned at Pardeeville?
