    Hi,

I was wondering, how hard is high temps on classics from the 70s and earlier??? Do you have to monitor the fluid levels more frequently??? Do you have to worry about overheating????

Well on the older ones (prewar) it can be very hard, especially during heavy traffic where its bumper to bumper. They can heat up very quickly and even start on fire. Its definitely an issue.

    Hi,

Alot of the older cars had overheating problems even when new. Most people with older cars, especially muscle cars have installed a temperature guage, along with others to let them know how the vehicle is operating . Better safe than sorry. On my GTO it use to run hot. I installed a new 4-core radiator along with a lower temperature thermistat. It has really mde a difference.

At least with me, I worry when I’m in a traffic jam because my cars need a lot of work & TLC. I’m worried with some that it will stop and won’t start again. (Fuel Bowl Problem)
