Years ago I read a book that proposed that the stones where cast, I think that this has been disproven. But the author had some interesting ideas on how some things could have been done, like useing an acid swab to drill into alabaster to make those long necked vases.

I’ve also seen a couple shows how the Egyptians may have used electricity in these vases filled with some type of acidic liquid.
