If you had a million dollars…

I guess this is a pretty broad topic but if you had a million dollars (well maybe more since that isn’t all that much now-a-days), what would you do with it? Donate some to charity? Buy your dream car?

One of the first things I would do is invest some of that money so I can get a nice payback every month. My dad asked me when I was younger, “Do you want to work for your money or do you want your money to work for you? Money doesn’t get tired.”

Those words have always stuck with me. Once I have settled up with the nest egg and take some cash and put something together for my sister, a trust fun of sorts that will be hers on the condition that she completes her masters degree. I think that’s a resonable goal and motivation for her to take things to the next level. It’s hard to keep those in their late teens to early twenties focused on the long term so I figure something like I mentioned would help.

Then I’ll get something nice for myself, perhaps a plot of land so I can have a nice house and huge garage built. At least with real estate you’re getting equity.

I would probably do something similar. Invest some to increase my money and put some into savings. I would pay off any debt that I had and manage it, I wouldn’t blow it all at once. I would also look into buying my dream car, probably not in #1 condition, something I could work on and bring up to good condition, y’know have some fun with it! thumbsup.gif
