Iola 2012 ….

I decided to brave the heat and hit up Iola today …

Here is what it looked like at 7AM

There was a burning and smoking ban at the show and for Waupaca County … and these guys made the best of it by bringing their own pool:

There were about 400 cars for sale and couple of decent buys …

1971 Mach 1 4 speed for 19.5k:

Vert T-bird for 10.5k

This was a cherry 1970 4speed Mach 1 that was restored 10 years ago and the owner only put 100 miles on since it was restored … he is an old guy now and just wants to find it a good home … 26.5k:

This said it was a Real Judge with PHS for 22.5k:

454 vert chevelle 4 speed for 75k

I bought this from a guy that said the guy that makes these is 86 years old and use to make signs like this for race tracks back in the 50’s and 60’s … so this is just a new one he made and ruffed it up a bit to make it look old …

The Theme was orphan cars and there was a TON of Pontiacs (there was about 800 show cars ….)

I started laughing when I saw that Chevelle for 75k, and said he’ll be taking this home today. Five minutes later he was leaving…LOL

That white 54 Merc was pretty kool…

I must say the swap meet at Iola is getting pretty disappointing, it seems like the same people dragging the same crap there every year. I’m thinking I need to leave the state and find a better swap meet to attend next summer.

We spent two days there, Friday and Saturday, got all the stuff I needed to finish up the 53 Ford. I also bought some Coker white walls for that classic look. I think attendance was down some, heat, economy, might have kept some people from going to the show.
