This is from the most recent Hot Rod Magazine:
HR: Jay are you going to watch the Barrett-Jackson auction this weekend?
Jay: I might watch a few minutes of it, but I’m not much for the auctions. I tell people, if you’re looking for a car, go to the website for that car. Every car has a car club with a website, and every car probably has an older guy who’s stepping down or retiring and he’ll probably want $1500 more than what one is going for on the open market, but the chances are it’s got $5000 worth of upgrades and improvements, and it’s been maintained.
…. I like Jay’s thoughts on this since buying a car from a dealer, you are most likely never going to get the full story on the car …
