An average of two to three cars are stolen a day in Huntsville. In fact, five were stolen on Monday. In order to keep the bad guys out, there are several new ways to arm your vehicle.

Some newer alarms can alert you by pager that someone is breaking into your car by your keyless entry.

“Not only does it arm and disarm the alarm, but it lets you know and confirms with either an audible beep or a vibration whether your alarm is armed or unarmed,” says Chris Donahue, who works with alarm systems at Sound Depot.

However, if you don’t have the high tech gadgets, it’s a good idea not to leave anything visible to attract someone to break into your car. Of course, always lock your car doors and keep your windows rolled up.

Or just don’t drive a Honda. They get stolen about 15 billion more times then other cars (something like that). I drive an old Escort, I only have to worry about crack addicts with respect to theft.
