Thanks for the kind words Ryan. It was our first show and didn’t happen without a HUGE amount of headache/long hours/effort. My only hope was that all who attended left happy and got a new experience, since many have never been to our shop…or (in many cases) didn’t even know we existed. I hope no one was bothered by the early trophy presentation. We have to load the trucks up tonight for Baltimore.
We kept the classes small-ish and tried to keep it simple for a first year show. We had no idea what kind of turnout would happen (with so many other shows this weekend) so I explained to the bossman “be happy with 50, be extremely pleased with 100”.
I was personally amazed at the amount of foot traffic.
For trophies, we really wanted to try to be different. The bossman wanted to make the best of show trophies something unique, and he and I spent a few hours working on them. The BofS car/truck trophy was probably worth about $5K in parts.
Oh yeah and that wing came off of Scott Tucker’s Mazda Lites car. He hit the wall in turn 5 at Road America and turned that $40K wing into a nice piece of man-cave art.
Again, thank you for the nice words and thank you for coming.
I would also like to say a huge thank you for all who attended. We raised some good money for TraJa.
