They are talking about making it a full time job with full time pay for being on the city council. I think that might be a good idea, then you might get some normal people on there, not some of the nuts who make up the council now. In the history of Madison I think most of the residents didn’t pay too much attention to the city council. They always knew they were made up for the most part by people on the fringe. But now with the turmoil in the economy some of the decisions made can have a big impact, so they are paying closer attention.
