According to the Hot Rod Power Tour website the last leg from Rochester, MN to Madison will start at 9AM (drivers meeting at 9AM) this Friday June the 13th and they will take highway 14.

Their ETA into Virquoa, WI will be at about 11:30-12:00.

    ETA into Richland Center 12:15-12:45.

ETA past QSL 2:15-3:00 (I’m betting some will stop for lunch prior to this).

And most should roll into the Alliant Energy Center between 2:45-4PM (it is about a 4.5 trip via this route not stopping).

I’m planning on heading to QSL between 10:15-10:30 and will be driving up to Richland Center (about a 1.25 hour trip) starting at about 10:30-10:45 from QSL. Push, pull or drive your ride into QSL and join the Madison Crew who will track down the Tour and will enjoy the ride back into Madison with the rest of the predicted 2500 cars (be part of the mob).

Once we arrive in Richland Center we should have some time to grab something to eat and find a good place to park to watch the cars roll on by.

There are a few Shops on the way in WI that are offering their support to help out Power Tour Folks:

Including LilWillie (recent poster here); located in Mazomanie.

If you cannot make it out try to hit up East Wash between 7-9PM to park and watch the 1000’s of cars cruising the strip.

Over the next week the Long Haulers will post their photos to this post here:

I just checked the WisDOT website and it looks like I-90/94/39 is shut down at Mauston (both directions) all the way in to Madison? I suppose m the cars could stage/hold up in the Mauston area until traffic is allowed to start moving again.

I spent a few minutes watching the livestream feed and it does look like some of the cars are using Hwy 14 and not the interstate.

I just got back to the computer. I did confirm that the Power Tour is using Hwy 14. I watched some the tour cars rolling into town for about 20 minutes. What an awesome sight! What a great way to enjoy the old car hobby!

I met Ryan at the Lube at 10:30 this morning and we drove out to Richland Center had lunch and drove back to the Alliant Center. Very cool to see so many cars. Not many together but still cool. We would see groups of 4 or five at a time.

Then I paid my $25 to park inside. What a great event. So many different variety of cars. This is how all shows should be. No class segregation, no year limitations, just car people enjoying the hobby.

Ryan, what happened to you? I turned around at the Alliant Center entrance to go to the participant entrance and never saw you again. I looked for you and your car for a while and then started walking around.

It was awesome. I will say that it is not a great way to enjoy the “old car hobby” but an awesome way to enjoy the car hobby no matter what you are into.

i parked in the Spectators lot, for 5 bucks. no worries.

There were about 20 vendors, a Dyno that was actually in use, about 1200ish cars. I took several videos and some pics that i will post later tonight.

The best part for me was the drive up to Richland Center and watching the cars drive in the opposite direction.

I ended up meeting and walking around with a guy from the Green Bay area who came down as a spectator just to see the show. It is always nice to meet new people in the hobby. The Dyno (or honesty machine) was fun to watch. I saw a few cars that looked fast only pull sub-200hp numbers.

Sounds and looks like a great time. I wish work wouldn’t of gotten in the way. That panaramic view really shows the volume of cars.

I am sorry to hear everything got messed up for you. You were more than welcome to tag along with us.

You know I thought I heard someone yell “Jon!” in Cross Plains, but I thought “no I musta been hearing things. I don’t know anyone in Cross Plains”.

Fun to watch the cars. Never did make it to the Alliant Energy Center. We made the mistake of going into Madison around rush hour. Soooo, we hit QSL and tried to drink them out of beer. icon_cheesygrin.gif

If any of you made it threw Mazomanie we where at the drive in restuarant with the Camaro and Apache waving at you
