I bet the alignment shops are loving the condition of the streets.

I’m surprised I could get home today. All the roads around my house were still not touched by 4:30PM. I helped dig 2 cars out around my house. So where were the plows at all day?

I guess they decided to suspend plowing sometime in the afternoon to wait until it let up – but then they started again around 3 I think. That might explain why such a large area was not yet plowed

Right, the plows were pulled earlier as it wasn’t doing any good for them to be out. They did go back out around 3 and will remain out most of the night. We also need to remember these guys have had to plow so many times this winter and while it’s great on the wallet, it’s very hard on the body.

My work let everyone go at 11 and Steve’s at 1, which we were very grateful for. I took the interstate to work this morning, which was a nightmare and stayed on the roads through town on the way home, which wasn’t much better but at least I didn’t have to deal with the blowing and drifting as much.

I’m so ready for spring, 14″ in Sun Prairie today isn’t my idea of fun! :(

I’m getting ready to go out and plow again myself. We got to go home at 3pm today (the 6 of us that were actually there). I plowed 3 times during the day just to help keep the amounts down and fight drifting. Hopefully now that the wind has died down I can be home at a reasonable hour tomorrow morning before having to go back to work.

I helped three neighbors here as well. I saw a plow go by a main street after we got done. I hope by morning they can get my street, or at least early afternoon. At least I don’t have to work until Saturday.

Unfortunately I went to work today. Took me 2 hours to get home after I left at 2:30. They did as much with the roads as they could with as much smow as we received. I got stuck about 100 feet from my driveway so I have to shovel a 100 foot path to get it off the street. FUN

The streets crew did a good job with all the snow we had. They have not had a real break since Thanksgiving. This winter has been relentless.

I come down Syene and Lacy Road on to Research Park Drive every morning and those roads are terrible! I realize it’s hard to plow given the open fields, but it always seems like a sheet of ice. They are usually better in the day when it warms up a bit, but wow in the morning ~ watch out!

I was required to be in Marinette, WI at 1PM on Wednesday for a criminal trial. I left Madison in this mess at 6AM and had the misfortune to have to drive back to Madison on Wednesday night, leaving Marinette at 5PM. Everything south of OshKosh, to include highways 41 and 26 and 151 were about as treacherous as I have ever seen in 40 years of driving.

Yeah, I’m so ready for the snow to end and for the warm weather to begin. Haha, it doesn’t help that my job is seasonal. Oh well, that’s Wisconsin for you I suppose.

The streets are clear now which is really nice. Hopefully the snow tomorrow will be minimal and won’t stick!

What we really need, now, is a good hard rain to wash away the sand that accumulated over the winter.

There is allot of debris on the streets, hopefully by next week it will be washed clean.

Yeah, the sand and dust is really blowing around the streets. I walked right into a huge cloud the other day. It was pretty disgusting. I was glad to see that the snow didn’t stick today. I wanted clean and dry streets asap. Coooome oooon sun! sunny.gif
