This is an extension to one of my comments from the gadget thread. It seems to me that the automakers really don’t put in enough gauges, or at least enough to satisfy the readers of this board. So lets make a list of every gauge that you think should come standard on all cars (let’s day your made dictator and can mandate car gauges). I’d like to see:

    Odometer
    Speedometer
    Tachometer
    Coolant temperature
    Volts
    Fuel (gallons left)
    Oil pressule
    Vacuum

I’m sure that I could add to this list if I think about it some more. That and I would prefer real numbers as opposed to this:

I thought that was already in the works as some sort of federal mandate to get everyone to keep proper air pressure in their tires. Most likely in the form of a dash light and not a gauge I suspect.

I’d like a gauge that tells me where the cheapest gas station is within a 5 mile radius! Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif

Seriously though I would definitely like to see a tach like you said in all cars, that is important

Actually a few of the ford vehicles have a dash light that comes on if a tire pressure gets too low or it senses something is wrong with it

I would like to see an IQ measurement guage. If the person doesn’t meet minimum requirements the car could not be driven. The roads would be much emptier than they are these days.
