As we look forward to the warmer days of spring and summer, the 2009 car show season looms ever closer on the horizon. Many of our favorite shows will return and new ones will pop up. For you, which show are you looking forward to the most and why?

For me it will be the Power Tour. I’ve been trying for 3 years now to find a show in which you drive for part of it that I can get my Dad to ride shotgun with me. I think we are only driving down to Racine and will probably hit the road by 4-5PM to drive home, but it should be a fun ride!
January 20, 2009 at 1:58 pm #33445AnonymousInactiveFor me, I am looking forward to a couple of shows that I have attended for several years, but not done very well at.
I am looking forward to the Hometown Days show in Verona. This is literally in my backyard, but I have never done very well there. And, the other show is Albany. I like the drive down, I like the location, the food is always outstanding, but again, I have never done well there.
I will put extra time and effort into my car to get ready for these shows, and we will see what happens in 2009.
January 20, 2009 at 6:33 pm #33440Eclipse_TunerParticipantFor me it has to be the Beaver Dam Swan City Park show.
It was the first show I’d ever been to and it was close to home. Its a great crowd, a huge mix of cars, and put on really really well. Its also a very nice setting.
I am also looking forward to the Musclecar Performance show/benefit at Rev. Jim’s Roadhouse in May (date and details are being worked out). Mainly because it is going to be more of a charity event than a true car show. The proceeds are going to be going to Jim of Musclecar Performance, who was recently diagnosed with cancer and will be undergoing treatment.

Like Marshall, I too enjoy Albany. Always a great selection of nice cars at that show, I like the location, the food is good, nice door prizes, and a fun drive.
Lancaster was a small show that I enjoy, and that is a nice drive out there via the Stitzer By-Pass (you gotta be from around my parts to fully understand Stitzer Bypass).
One show that I’m really looking forward to is the RoadApples show in Sun Prairie. Now that its under new direction by a great group of people out to not make a name for themselves like the previous car-show Nazi, it should be organized a lot better, judged a lot better, and be much more enjoyable. Things are in full swing for this show, and it should be quite the occasion!
I always favor Mopars on the Mississippi in Dubuque before Labor Day. Good, fun, and fast drive. Lotsa nice sheet metal, and you can catch some rare stuff you only see in magazines.

January 23, 2009 at 3:28 am #33472GTO ManModeratorOne that may of been one of the most anticipated would of been Good Guys if they were still holding it here, even though it was over-priced.

I am not familiar with MuscleCar Performance LLC. Is this a local business and where are they located. Do they specialize in motor work or do they do it all?
I believe that I have heard Belinda Posto (organized the Rev Jim get togethers last year) speak of them and may have used this shop to work on her car (66 ImpalaSS convertible) last year.
January 23, 2009 at 6:01 pm #33480jonmandudeParticipantI am looking forward to the Power Tour this year. With all of the hours I work now that I am managing and not just bartending, I will probably have to be picky this year with what and where I attend. the Power Tour is one I feel is a must. Who knows when anything like this will be in our area again, and last year proved to be the most enjoyable car show experience I have ever had. This year I plan on doing probably the first 3 or 4 legs of the tour

Marshall,
Musclecar Performance used to be called House of Horsepower. Same Hacks, different name. If you appreciate and care for your car, Don’t take it there. Probably not right for me to say it being a business owner myself that specializes in collector cars and hot rods, but due to my past experiences with Lance and his group of ex-cons I feel the need to tell everyone to stay away from them.

Can you edit the quote in your post above this one. You are attributing a quote to me that is incorrect.

January 24, 2009 at 4:14 am #33442circletrackParticipantI always look forward to Automotion and from there Spring Green and Pardeeville are favorites ~ great locations and an even better group of people that put on those shows.
The Road Apples are working hard to put together their first show, we’re hoping for lots of sun, fun and more!

Quote:Not trying to start anything on here…but Ive had the complete opposite experience with them. And the people Ive send there havent had any complaints either.
I guess we all have certain shops that we wont go back to. (I personally will never go to Lancaster Toyota because of their service senior tech).
