As we look forward to the warmer days of spring and summer, the 2009 car show season looms ever closer on the horizon. Many of our favorite shows will return and new ones will pop up. For you, which show are you looking forward to the most and why?

I’ve heard that from a couple other people who I see regularly at shows. I hear its a huge event on the scale of Jefferson or Iola, is that so?

11,712 registered cars last year. 125,000 spectators largest three day show in the world..

It takes 3 days to see all of it.

1964 or earlier cars sorry Marshall No Mustangs..

My hearts breaking over here, OK:(
There aren’t many shows where they tell you that a 1965 car is too new.

But, I will share this with you. During each show, every year, a member of the Minnesota Street Rod Associaton, makes an hour long DVD (set to 50s music) of some of the cars in attendance. I have purchased these DVD’s for about four years now. Even though I have never made it to this show, I kind of have an idea of how big and how nice this show actually is.

There wasn’t much on TV last night, so I pulled out the DVD from 2007 watched it for about the upteenth time:laugh:

Don’t take it there. Probably not right for me to say it being a business owner myself that specializes in collector cars and hot rods, but due to my past experiences with Lance and his group of ex-cons I feel the need to tell everyone to stay away from them.

Not trying to start anything on here…but Ive had the complete opposite experience with them. And the people Ive send there havent had any complaints either.

I guess we all have certain shops that we wont go back to. (I personally will never go to Lancaster Toyota because of their service senior tech).

Moparkid25 is, how do I say, right?

When those hacks lie, cheat, and steal from someone they have befriended they burn a lot of bridges – myself included. Granted, there work didn’t start my car on fire like Zac’s, but I got the raw end of the stick from them when I had them do some work on my dad’s car as a gift from me to my old man for his reitrement. In short, it was crap. I was being told things were being done when in turn it sat while everyone ate cookies and drank Dr. Pepper while hating on everyone else that had nice cars. After I jumped them about stealing parts off the car, ruining the paintwork, and not doing all what they were supposed to, they offered to take the car back and make it right at no charge. Fine. But last spring when we FINALLY got the car back, there were scratches in the chrome bumper, more paint chips than what it left with, it was filthy, and there was no explinations or apology for there hack work. Hell, Lance himself wouldn’t even bring the car back, he sent his daddy and his lackey to do the work! Then tried to take the high road on me with my old man saying I didn’t keep up my end of the deal.

I’ll recommend a 5 year old with an SOS pad before I send anyone to these clowns.

    Now, moving on….

I can’t wait for the dells! I also enjoy Blanchardville, Albany, Reedsburg, Lancaster, and Monroe, those are probably my favorite shows to go to every year. I also like the July Monroe cruise nights, Beloit cruise night, Going to Janesville to cruise Milton Ave, and of course, the Dubuque Mopar show. I always like trying new shows too!

But we should all rally and tell Moparkid25 to get off his @$$ and get car shopping, that big garage of his is pretty empty, even with his truck, hs woman’s car, and his old man’s Harley in there 😆

When I lived in Minneapolis, I went to the Back To The 50’s show. It is an amazing show. I spent the whole day taking pictures and probably only covered a little over half the cars. It is freaking huge. I would list this as an event worth the drive.
