What do you think of the new, brighter halogen headlights on the newer vehicles today? Personally I find the blindly light makes it even more difficult to see an navigate when faced with oncoming traffic. I haven’t driven a car with these headlights but I would imagine they also help illuminate better as well. Is this tradeoff really worth it though if it impairs the other drivers? Does your vehicle use these new headlights?

I put a set in my Dakota, and it does make driving at night easier. You can see alot more as well. But I hate the glaring lights in my rearview mirror….

I don’t like them, they are too bright for oncoming traffic. And like you say as far as the rear of view mirror.

They are fine when they are aligned properly.
They suck when they are not aligned properly.

I have High Intensity Discharge lights on my car, and they are great, and they are properly aligned.

Glad to hear some thoughts of people who use them. It seems they really give an advantage to those inside the car using them. Too bad this wouldn’t have an adjustment like brights where they could tone down during oncoming traffic

Here is a good site about HID’s and their legality, in short just about all aftermarket HID kits are illegal because of the glare.

Here is a set of HID’s that are aimed right.

Notice how they go like this_/— they are lower on the drivers side to not blind oncoming traffic as much (notice BMW’s and Lexus’s don’t blind you as bad as the aftermarket kits you find for Civics).

This means improved peripheral vision and enhanced down-the-road visibility, especially in bad weather. The end result is safer driving for everyone on the road

Is there a timetable to integrate these new halogen lights over and introduce them in all new vehicles?

I don’t like them. They look unnecessary to me.
