Ok what milage do you change your oil at?

The oil change places tell you to change it every 3000, while my Ford manual tells me to change my Focus’s oil every 5000, and I know Subaru says a WRX’s oil should be changed at 3000 miles for the first one then at 7500 after that. Also the new BMW’s don’t have a written record, the engine comptuer tells you when it needs a change.

So again what milage do you change your oil?

    Mine is 5K.

older cars usually around 2500-3000 miles. I worked for a for dealership as a tech and almost all the newer fords they reccommend 5000 miles tho in reality most customers were coming in around the 3000 mark or a little above

After 3000 miles my oil is looking very dirty so I change it then. The wife doesn’t put many miles on her van so I change it spring and fall, miles don’t matter.

Our cars get changed every year, so that can vary from 12,000 miles to 35,000 miles.

Yep. Do remember that 4.5 litres of decent oil here costs about £15 (about $26).

Don’t the engines wear faster when not being changed for so long? I would think the cost of regular oil changes would outweigh the cost for a new motor but maybe its just me?

Synthetics last a lot longer than normal oil.
I have seen one company advertise high milage synthetics.
I might go synthetic once my engine reaches 30,000 miles.
