I made it out for about 20 minutes … Rolled in at about 7PM and the kids at the entry just smiled and waved me in (no window card, no 10% coupin … nothing).

there were about 20 cars at the time:

Sounds like they have some work to do to get it back to where it used to be. Of course the weather has not been kind to cruises this year. Did they have a DJ?

I passed Ryan on his way out and my way in. I was there long enough to take a piss and get back in my car. Ended up driving to Okee and had dinner at Fitz’s on the Lake instead.

BTW, if you are driving a GNX and have a handi-park hanging on your rearview mirror, you shouldn’t be driving a GNX.

You wanna clarify that statement please. What does it matter what kind of car a person drives and whether he’s disabled or not?

No DJ, but the stage was up (probably from bike night).

Things will get better as the weather improves. I enjoy the food and the atmosphere.

Not knocking the fact he has a disability. What I am knocking is how hard it is to get in and out of these cars without being disabled, let alone having a condition that alters your life.

    Zac,

I guess it all boils down to what you’re willing to go through. Speaking as someone who was once a quadriplegic, and still has problems, some of us are willing to do whatever it takes in order to enjoy our passions. I made the decision not to get handicap plates because I’m (once again / still) able to walk. If that dude qualifies for a disabled tag, and still is willing to climb into that car, I say: more power to him!

Guys in our condition could easily take offense at your first comment. My initial reaction is: Who the he!! are you to tell me when to give up my car? I know you wouldn’t enjoy being told to give up your car, and I hope you see my side too.

As far as a difficult vehicle to enter, I’m willing to let you compare your ride with my Pantera, or the CJ5 with the roll cage, or even the Pinz, any day. I still wedge myself into them, just cuz. Maybe that dude is just a stubborn old guy like me?

    Cheers,
    Paul

And for the record, I know more about dealing with someone with disabilities than anyone (with or without a handicap) on this forum.

I havent been to the cruise night yet this year, bad wether and no time! But tonight we had a “mini cruise” Three Pintos! One from Mn and the other from Ontirio Canada. We will be in the Monona Memorial Day Parade along with three other Pintos , then Joining the Pinto Stampede. Both have never been to a Quaker Steak and Lube before. They enjoyed it very much!

This car (1956)was wreaked in 1973 and then was stored until 2009 … the interior and front of the car were restored and the rear of the is what 55 years does to a vette:
