One question, IF the Gov’s bill is such a no-brainer and justified, then why does he feel the need to rush the changes through without the customary multiple public hearings throughout the state, which would commonly be held to debate such a major change in policy.
Instead, he’s apparently even considered bringing in people to create problems within the demonstrations: Badger Herald Article
I’d heard rumors about Madison Police Chief Wray being concerned about this. I googled “Noble Wray Walker” and there are a bunch of hits. It appears to be confirmed, although who knows how it’ll play out.
I guess Chief Wray is probably just one of those “unwashed hippies banging their drum” as someone put it in another post.
What strikes me that many of you folks are missing is this: When your government forces changes down your throat without any reasonable explanation or debate, it’s unacceptable. This is EXACTLY the way DOT started eating away at the rights of “NONSTANDARD VEHICLES” **, and how they’re still working to toss them all off the road. It was unacceptable then, and it is now too.
** FYI: “NONSTANDARD VEHICLES” is DOT’s newest catchphrase to describe any vehicles which do not display a NHTSA label certifying that it met safety standards, and include all pre-’69, ex-military, and many imported antique vehicles.
Be careful what you ask for folks.
