    Yep, I went.

I’ll do a “rate the show” later. Gotta leave the office pretty soon and go to Milwaukee today.

    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – There were signs out on 33, so River Bend Park was pretty easy to find.
Parking Location – One of the nicest locations/community parks that I have been to this year!
Class Organization – Very much like the other shows with many cars in the 60s and 70s stock classes.
Trophies & Prizes – Cash envelopes at noon for 20 participants. Trophies were extra nice, with plenty of awards at the end of the show.
Food – Steak sandwiches, Chicken Filet sandwiches and the other usual fare, very well done.
Entertainment – Low key DJ who did not interfere with the car show. Nicely done!
Judging – Concours judge who did all cars. Very nicely done, also.
Dash Plaque – Very nice and colorful.
    Variety of Cars – Yes
Bathrooms – Plenty of porta toilets throughout the park
    Weather – Perfect
    Trophy Presentation Timing
    Entry Fee
Overall Rating:put overall rating here A River Bend Park is the perfect setting for a car show, alongside the scenic Rock River. This club pulled off a perfect car show on a perfect weekend. This show is no longer affiliated with Marsh Days in Horicon.

As car show chair for the 5th Annual Horicon Marsh Classic Car Show, I want to thank everyone who attended our show this year. We had a total of 199 vehicles in attendance with about 450 people as well as about another 200 or so spectators. Honestly, we put our heart and soul into this show and we can only handle about another 75-100 more cars because of our judging manpower, so I call 200 cars right within our target window.

The participants were great and treated the city park with care. Garbage was at a minimum and there were no burnouts. The city has told me that we are invited to use the park again next year, so we will be back. We are tentatively looking at Saturday, September 6, 2008 for next year. We haven’t formally voted on it to date. We’ll hold the vote in October so I will update for sure then.

We had 30 judged classes but we ended up with four classes where there wasn’t any vehicles in them. So, for next year, we’ll change some classes around to something like some custom classes as well as a division between fiberglass hot rods and bonafide hot rods. We were sad to see only one van show up, so that class will change tro something else as well.

I look forwad to any feedback we can receive on our show, good or bad. There are always areas where we can improve. We had identified an area that needs improvement in that we will move the food closer to the car show parking. We are also working on getting one very large, quiet generator instead of the five, small, loud ones we had.

Once again, thanks to all who came. We look forward to seeing you next year and hope some more folks come as well.
Take care & God bless, Joel McNabb, Car Show Chair, HMCCC Marsh Rats
