I said convertible because there is less to go wrong with them. Retractables have alot of style.

I had convertible once and know people that had them. Don’t like them. Retractable is just a fancier version of a convertible. Not even a fan of sun roofs. Had one in a car once and hardly ever opened it. I like a solid roof over my head. I’d take either one if it was given to me, but I’d sell it and buy something else. thumbsup.gif

I would have agreed 50 years ago! I think the Ford retractable
had a million miles of wires and 2 million switches and solenoids
    to operate the roof.

Todays retractables are probably more reliable.

Convertibles have problems also. Mainly the top being cloth.
Also the rear window, which might be glass today, but yesteryear
it was made of a plastic that faded and turned brittle!

    Neither.

Normally I’d take neither unless the car was designed to be a convertable from the begining, like the S2000 or Miata, but when a regular car is turned into a convertible some of the stregth is lost and performace is hurt.
