See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

    lwrwench brought up a good idea about moving Off Topic to the top of the forum, therefore bringing more users and making it easier for car buffs to chat about stuff other than cars when they feel like it. What do you think, good idea or bad idea?

    Why don’t you just download the offtopic button and highlight it a different color??? Can you mod a single button instead of all them?

    Good question, maybe there’s a way to do that, I’ll have to look into it.

    I think I have a compromise, I’ll move OT to the top of the Other Section, above Current Events and Scifi, how’s that sound?

    You can insert HTML directly into the Admin CP where you manage the category names, forum names, descriptions…. etc. I’ve tested it before formatting text and substituting images but I’d imagine you could insert any HTML.

    Its easy Yoda! Just make an image like that in Photoshop or whatever with background color [code:1]EFEFEF[/code:1] and then use this instead of the forum title:
    [code:1]<img src="http://www.yoursite.com/images/yourforumimage.jpg">[/code:1]

    Thanks. Which file? Is it in the main phpbb2 directory?

    Not a file, in your AdminCP when you manage the forums, you can enter a title and description, put that in the title

    Hmmmmm.. that’s causing a error for the viewtopic pages. There’s a

    [code:1]" /> " />[/code:1]

    Up in the left corner, never noticed that. Can’t think of a way to get around it at the moment sdince removing the ” > in the CP will break the HTML for the other pages. It breaks the jumpbox too, oh well, it was just a suggestion. I didn’t notice that before, I only tested it briefly. dontknow.gif

    It’s adding extra tags…. See the ones where the image tags are.

    [code:1]<link rel="prev" href="viewtopic.php?t=1076&view=previous" title="View previous topic" />
    <link rel="next" href="viewtopic.php?t=1076&view=next" title="View next topic" />
    <link rel="up" href="viewforum.php?f=6" title="<img src="http://www.wiscollectorcar.com/forum/images/posts/ot.jpg">" />
    <link rel="chapter forum" href="viewforum.php?f=10" title="Car News" />
    <link rel="chapter forum" href="viewforum.php?f=5" title="General" />
    <link rel="chapter forum" href="viewforum.php?f=4" title="Pictures" />

    <link rel="chapter forum" href="viewforum.php?f=2" title="Restoration & Performance" />
    <link rel="chapter forum" href="viewforum.php?f=19" title="Accessories" />

    True. Do you know of any html (ie color changes) that won’t cause errors?

    No because it has to be enclosed in a tag and when insert it into the CP it gets enlosed between ” ” which is incorrect markup. Besides the fact it’s also putting HTML in the head tag which is also incorrect markup.
