I saw a review on the Smart Car, it might not be too smart to buy one. The reviewer said it was dangerous in that it stalled going across busy intersections, obviously because of its size. There were transmission problems, the mileage is not very good(40 mpg) for a car that size. Another issue is that it is so low it could end up under certain vehicles. It sounds like it needs some re-engineering in the problem areas. Personally I would rather drive a larger vehicle and not have to worry as much about my own funeral when I am driving it.

I have seen pictures of accidents between a Smart Car and trucks. The remains of the person in the Smart Car was not pretty. Half in on part of the car and half in another.
