By far the best candidate out there if he runs.

Duuuuude! I smoked a bowl with him when he was still in college. What’s his political leanings these days?

He has learned allot over the years. I believe he would be about in the middle, not nearly as liberal as his early days. The last time he ran he was considered the conservative.

My dad tells stories of his days in college, and my favorite is the one of Soglin throwing bricks thru windows of buildings on Mifflin Street.

I’m glad I don’t live in that liberal cesspool called Madison, but if I did, and no other candidates struck my fancy, I would vote Soglin.

With as pathetic as this country has gotten we need people protesting to vocalize we aren’t going to take it anymore.

Protesting is one thing. Vandalizing property is not protesting. Burning the flag and a draft card isn’t very patriotic either. During the vietnam conflict, Madison was a battleground for politics.

40 years later, it is the only city that “forgives” murderers, i.e. the Armstrong brothers. The protesters of the era are now professors at the UW and members of the city gov’t. However, given the progressive agenda of Queen Kathleen and Mayor Dave, even I welcome change, and if Soglin is the man to do it, so be it. Soglin has supporters on both sides of the fence, and had it in the past too. That’s what made him an effective Mayor.

Getting rid of Mayor Dave is not only a good thing for the city, but also for the county.

I agree about the vandalism but what happened in Madison back then had a huge impact in ending an un-winnable war.

I don’t agree with forgiving the Armstong’s, they should of been shunned.

But I do think that Soglin may be the right man for the job at this point in time.

I would agree that Madison is way too liberal. The majority of Madisonians have ignored what has come out of downtown Madison over the years. I have always looked at the city council as being populated by zoo animals, not to be taken seriously. We would be better off having a paid council that would bring some more informed candidates, instead of people on the fringe. But because of the deterioration in the quality of life in this city people are starting to pay attention to what comes out of the City government. Madison is a beautiful city geographically, but unfortunately the quality of life here does not live up to the same level.

One of the most ridiculous ideas to come out of the city council was from a Barney Fife, but instead of having one bullet they didn’t want the police to have any bullets.
