    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – A nice drive out this morning! The fog worried me at first, but once the sun came through it was nice. Very well marked.
Parking Location – They did a nice job of parking everyone, nice distance between the cars.
    Class Organization – None.
Trophies & Prizes – I heard door prizes throughout the day and they all sounded nice. When I was registering this morning the DJ asked a question I knew, so I thought I’d yell it out as long as I was right there. He didn’t hear me, but a guy walking by did so he gave him my answer and won the prize! I thought that was kinda cruddy, but that’s the way life goes. The guy did thank me for the answer?!
Food – Much better selection than last year, I still wish the local taverns would do a bit more. The prices were fair for what we bought.
Entertainment – Great! This DJ did an awesome job, he was entertaining and the music selection was superb! I’d highly recommend him for any event.
Judging – Participation, it worked for me. I did hear others complaining about the sheets given out today in which you could only vote for 6 cars. I talked to one of the guys putting on the show later in the day and he said they had complaints last year on having to vote for 24 cars so they thought they’d change it a bit this year. Next year will more than likely be a judged show or another twist. I don’t get that upset over judging and winning/not winning. It’s a $3 trophy! :)
Dash Plaque – Very colorful, nice!
Variety of Cars – I really like this show as you see some cars you’ve never seen before but still see the friends we’ve made through the years.
Bathrooms – The local taverns were more than accommodating, they had plenty of portable ones also.
    Weather – PERFECT!!!!!!!
Trophy Presentation Timing – 3:30, typical. They were on time.
Entry Fee – $5, which I think is very cheap. I also won $50 as I entered before August 1, I was surprised and pleased! :)
Overall Rating: A ~ This show only gets better as the years go by. One of the major sponsors is Newton’s Auto Body and Todd does a great job surrounding himself with people that know how and want to put on a great show. They are always looking for recommendations and very willing to listen to them. I only see good things for this show in the future. Some of the local shops aren’t thrilled to have “car people” parked in front, but it’s for one day, a few hours at that. We had a great time today!

Congrats to everyone that won today, there was stiff competition. You should be proud!

    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – A, an easy ride over to Dodgeville, then up Hwy 23 right to Spring Green!
    Parking Location – B
    Class Organization – Ha, funny!
Trophies & Prizes – A, I thought they had very nice trophies.
Food – A, The bar on the corner had great food.
Entertainment – B, 3D Sound always does a good job as long as its not the annoying lady.
Judging – B, participant. I thought the voting turned out very fair.
Dash Plaque – A, very nice.
Variety of Cars – A, I really enjoyed looking at the Tomas Family Mopar Display (but I’m biased dontknow.gif )
Bathrooms – A, one of the better areas for facilities. There were plastic potties on one end, and the stores were willing to let you use there’s.
    Weather – A!
Trophy Presentation Timing – A, it was 3.30 but I originally think it was supposed to be 4.
Entry Fee – $5, all shows should be $5.
Overall Rating:A+ This by far was one of the best show’s I’ve ever been too! Congratulations to MMRJR, Circletrack and her husband, and ddhemi on winning there awards!! I rode up with ddhemi today and came as a spectator, I was really impressed with the selection of cars and the variety of cars I’ve never seen before. This will be a show I feel will become huge in the next few years if they keep up the good work like this year!

    Specific Ratings (A-F):

First off, Congrats to Marshall, Rachel, Steve and Dwight for their wins!

Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – Lots of signs, easy to find.

Parking Location – A. Main street. Look for the guys with the pool noodles! It is nice to have someone point you to where they want to put you at.

    Class Organization – na

Trophies & Prizes – B+. A bunch of trophies and door prizes. I was a little surprised they didn’t call off more ticket numbers, rather they did more trivia questions. And a great concept of a 50 dollar drawing for those who preregister.

Food – Brats, walking taco, water, soda. All fair prices, but I was little surprised to see the bar selling brats for 2 bucks and the stand (different store) that was behind the registration tent was selling brats for 4 bucks (and they were sell chicken and potatoes too); maybe they were gourmet brats?

Entertainment – B+. They DJ did a great job. Some talk and some music (along with a few gentle reminders to not touch the cars; not like that lady who screams at folks about it) . I just wish they could widen their selection of music to a wider range of years instead of 1907-1977 (I did hear one B-52’s song….).

Judging – I too was caught off guard with the class selections I had B, I, N, G, O (…. wait a minute, that spells BINGO! I win!), I agree 24 class would of been tough to pick because some classes you would have to hunt down and find the one car in the class.

Dash Plaque – A. Cool and colorful.

Variety of Cars – A. A bit of everything(about 200 cars showed up). I really enjoyed some of the rat rods and trying to figure out where some of the parts came off of.

Bathrooms – A. 4 porta johns and bars. Perfect.

Weather – A. I had to move to the shade because it was like an easy bake over on side where my car was.

Trophy Presentation Timing – A. Excellent. Started at 3:30 ended at 4:00. Not bad for announcing +80 winners. And the DJ that did the announcing did it perfectly. That is naming: the class, the city where the person is from, the year and make and model of the car and the name of the owner. With all this info it makes it worth while to stick around because then you can visualize the car that won, because you probably walked by it several times.

Now, the only thing I found odd, was that there were a couple of stray cars in some of the classes. Like in Marshals class, a 1998 (yup a 98) Buick GSX won, and there was a 1963 Ford Falcon that won in one of the newer car classes (like 1990-present). Maybe I need to clean my ears out?

Entry Fee – 5 bucks. This show has basically everything you could want and only costs 5 bucks. This was a super quality show at a very cheap price.

    Overall Rating:A+

This was the best show I’ve been to this year for a show of this size and agree it will grow (I think they have enough room for about 50-70 more cars if they expand down the side streets).

It had the following which I personally think is important for a great car show:
    1. Signs to the show
    2. Guys with pool noodle to park you (noodles are optional)
    3. Music with a DJ
    4. Dash plaque and grab bag (I really don’t care much for the grab bag, but I do enjoy the stickers, which some of them are on my tool box).
    5. bathrooms
    6. Water and food at reasonable prices
    7. Door prizes which includes prizes that are not all from the dollar store.
    8. Trophy presentations that are on time or early with good announcing and doesn’t take forever.
    9. Sun and shaded spots.
    10. Other things to do (like walk into a store or bar).

    My only recommendations are:

    1. Maybe combined some of classes for cars and trucks that are newer then 25 years old. There seem to be like 5-6 sections for this age range of cars/trucks, so that means there were like 15-20 trophies and there were only like 12-18 cars/trucks so you all win! I know it is piece of plastic, but a little competition never hurts.

    2. A list of the classes. I can’t say I saw one. I remember, driving in, paying 5 bucks, stop at the next station, I was asked the year of my car, I was handed a piece of paper, I parked, walked to the tent, I was asked if I wanted to be in the stock class, I said yes. What would of been nice is a big sign with the classes listed at the second stop, where I was asked my year (maybe it was there and I missed it).

Ryan ~ No you don’t need your ears cleaned out, you heard correctly! I wondered about that too, how Marshall’s Mustang could be in the same class with a car that much newer (and a 4 door late model car at that). Maybe Marshall can shed some light on this one? I don’t mind newer cars being in shows as long as there are specific classes for them.

Too funny about your classes today, I think mine spelled something too, I can’t remember what right now though. I’ve already sent and email to 3D letting them know how pleased we were with the DJ today, I can only hope they have someone as good at the HOH show tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed that Denise doesn’t show up.

I also noticed this. Both of these cars were owned by the same induvidual and I think the classes got mixed up on the dash sheets.

I didn’t know you and her were on a first name basis these days.

It’s hard to forget a person when you’re so bad and she told us more than once at Edgerton how she’s in demand at so many events… BangHead.gif

Today I received a thank you card from the Spring Green car show organizers for attending the show. That is a nice show of appreciation since we bring the cars and pay to put them in the show. That is very impressive, what do others think?

Yup, I got one too. It was nice to receive it and it was evident the City of Spring Green put a lot of time effort and money into this show.

Same here. Got one in the mail today and I appreciate the effort and thought that Spring Green has put into this show. It will only grow in years to come and be one of those “must attend” shows.

I did not expect to win, show, or place at this show, but I did win a best in class and the trophies is one of the nicest ones I have received this year! Looking back, I am not exactly sure what class I was in. I will definitely attend this show next year for several reasons. I like the location (in town, on asphalt). I really like the early morning drive into Spring Green! I like participant judged shows. Spring Green appears to be a car friendly town! Last but not least, many of my friends from the Road Apples, Wi Summer Cruisers, Sugar River Cruisers and Lake Wisconsin Cruisers attend this show. That means I get to spend alot of my time yakking away instead of cleaning the car! w00t.gif

Steve & I both received one also! Kudos to Todd Newton and the entire staff that puts on this great event. It’s little things like thanking everyone that make a huge difference. I’ve talked to Todd a couple times since the show and they are thrilled with the participation they are getting with such a young show and strive to make it even better!
