I’ll be back tomorrow, but it was a banner day! We had to wait in line at 6:30 and I heard others arriving around 9 had to wait in line for hours and/or couldn’t find anywhere to park! A beautiful day, the car corral is amazing!
April 29, 2007 at 12:52 am #29763GTO ManModeratorSpring Jefferson was one of the best I have seen. Many very interesting cars for sale, many rare ones I hadn’t seen before. I am still interested in a number of them. You couldn’t ask for a better weekend. I think it goes to show show how strong the car hobby is.
April 29, 2007 at 11:55 am #29764AnonymousInactiveI am in agreement with what Circletrack and GTOMAN said. The car hobby is growing by leaps and bounds every year!
Not only were there many more cars for sale this year in car corral, but the quality of the cars seems to be up from years past.
Did anyone check out that red, ‘cuda convertible Hemi car? The car was originally built with a 318?, but was replaced with a Hemi motor. Asking price was reduced from 95K down to 80K. With what these cars are doing at the major auctions, it seems 80K would be a bargain.

I parked at the show (can’t beat 6 bucks to get in and park)Food – C+. Normal burgers and brats. I had no issues getting food or water. No lines, so Sunday must of had a few less people.
Entertainment –
B+ One DJ in one spot.Dash Plaque –
A Yup. nice and big.Variety of Cars –
Awesome variety or cars. Nice to see some wagons, and 4 door cars for sale. I think the wagons and 4 door cars will be the next big cars to sell as the Hobby moves to the younger folks with a families.Bathrooms –
A. Here, there and everywhere.Weather –
A. Great!Entry Fee –
A. 6 bucks to park my car so I could enjoy the show works for me.
Overall Rating:A
My only suggestion is take the cars for sale to the next level. Allow the folks that are coming for sure to submit a write-up and photos of their car. Email address, or phone numbers would be listed with it after the show has ended and then keep the cars up for like 4 weeks. Also offer, for a fee, a day of show listing in which you can hand over a write-up and the Jefferson folks will snap a photo of car. Finally each car listed on the site would have a number as a reference. That way, for the person who wants to think about it, they have a reference to go back too…
I made it out today too. Got there at about 8:30 and it was wall to wall people! by 9:30 they were looking for any place to stick cars at.Lots of very nice cars for sale will some great prices for folks looking to get into the hobby.
I also saw the hemi convertible with the 80k price tag. a quick search of ebay will find you 2 71’s for over 100k:

Overall Rating:B+April 30, 2007 at 1:54 am #29767circletrackParticipantI went back today and the crowd was considerably less than yesterday. We had to wait in line (as a vendor) at 6:30 yesterday and worried today would be the same and/or even worse with the show cars, but drove right in. I think most people came yesterday as we were told they ran out of food and drinks late yesterday and had to get more today. When is the last time that happened at Jefferson? I imagine years ago. What a beautiful weekend, I hated to see it end!

Our visit was on Sunday afternoon. Although so many things were great about the show, the lack of dust control by the organizers or grounds team really made this event much less enjoyable than it should have been. We were only able to stay for 2 hours and did not get a chance to visits the outdoors vendor booths due to the dust. Portions of the car corral areas were made unbearable as well. I’m not sure whether the Jefferson Fairgrounds people will be able to address this in the future or not. I’m really going to have to reconsider whether I take my kids to this venue again. If it is windy, then I can guarantee the answer will be “no.” Too many tears were shed by my sons because of dirt in their eyes, when all they wanted to do is enjoy a car show.April 30, 2007 at 6:46 pm #29771AnonymousInactiveGaribaldi,
How many “big bars” did you consume this year?

April 30, 2007 at 10:49 pm #29772circletrackParticipantA couple notes here… I’m positive that Madison Classics keeps information on the cars in the corral for up to six months or so after the show ends, all you need to do is contact them.
They tried to control the dirt/dust during the day by wetting down the roads multiple times, but it’s virtually impossible to make everyone happy. If you walked in the back fields at all ~ those poor vendors would’ve liked nothing better than dry roads as they were sitting in mud. Our vendor spot was near the road, the cars were quite dirty by the end of the day ~ nothing a little soap and water won’t cure!

None, shocking as it may seem! 😯 I think Blanchardville should really have those too, they would make a killing on a hot mid-July day like that!

Leave it to Ford guy to not know that car was a Dodge Challenger Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif
That car was kinda rough, 80K for that was too much. Now, the ’71 Hemi ‘cuda clone that was for sale and the ’70 440+6 ‘cuda next to it were the two nicest cars for sale. I happen to know both the owners of these cars and they are great machines!

May 2, 2007 at 3:08 am #29775AnonymousInactiveThanks, moparkid25, for keeping me on my toes!!!
You’re absolutely right, it would take a Ford guy, to confuse a Challenger with a ‘cuda. My sincerest apologies.
Not knowing much about these cars, I thought that the red convertible clone was a real bargain at 80K with a hemi power plant.

May 2, 2007 at 3:25 am #29776GaribaldiKeymasterIt seems that even the clones of those cars bring big money nowadays
