You can rate the Stoughton 2007 show by selecting Rate The Show from the Insert Message dropdown. You can then fill out all the categories by giving your review and a final grade

Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) -Lots of large sandwich board signs leading you to the show site. Super easy to findParking Location – Parking lot asphalt, no real shade. No one to help you park or find a place to park (this show is pretty small, so that is not a surprise). The last 15 or so cars had to drive through and look for a place to park on the side street (also a vendor selling golf cars that looked like rods and hummers had like half of one driveway blocked which made it a challenge for later folks to get their cars to the street to park.
Class Organization – none
Trophies & Prizes – They gave away door prizes, no clue what they were giving. They gave out like 6 Throphies, but I’m not sure who or how they picked them?
Food – There was a cream puff trailer, that was selling puffs, fried cheese curds and bottles of water and soda (2 bucks a bottle, is a little steep). The show is a half block off the main drag, so there was plenty of places to grab a bite (I went to a bar called Sonny’s bar and grill).
Entertainment – They had a DJ spinning the tunes. More tunes then talk.
Judging – none.
Dash Plaque – yup, a nice smaller one.
Variety of Cars – from Muscle cars, to Model A’s, to 4 doors, to Rods to Rat rods, to Trucks. A little bit of everything. About 120 cars were there
Bathrooms – 2 porta johns on one end. Which I think was perfect due to the small size of the show.
Weather – I waited and waited, thinking it was going to rain, but then the rain disappeared, so I hit the road!
Trophy Presentation Timing – started at 2pm, and they were going to do it at 3PM
Entry Fee – 10 bucks day of show. A little steep for a show this size, that isn’t organized into classes of cars.
Overall Rating:B+
Next year they were talking about moving it to a park, that has some shade and can hold more cars (they were maxed out).

Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – This show was confusing as it was advertised to be held in Mandt Park, where it’s been for the past few years but when we arrived today the entrances were all blocked off for the streets to the park and we were directed to a parking lots instead, not good.
Parking Location – There were plenty of disappointed people today as the parking lot behind the buildings were not designed to hold as many cars as they tried to put in there and the cars that came later had to search for parking spots dealing with streets that had normal traffic on them that weren’t blocked off through the day.
Class Organization – None, park where you wanted.
Trophies & Prizes – They gave 6 awards away and 5 of them went to people they know.
Food – We brought our own this time, I didn’t want to chance it. I did hear many of the local bars had good food and the cheese curds were supposed to be the best around.
Entertainment – The DJ did an okay job, he was hard to hear most of the time.
Judging – I never saw them do much of anything.
Dash Plaque – Small, the spectators supposidly vote on what they want from year to year.
Variety of Cars – Just about anything you would want, I think some left due to the lack of parking stalls.
Bathrooms – We went to the bar across the street, he was more than happy to have us.
Weather – HOT!
Trophy Presentation Timing – They said 3 with a cruise to Culvers at 4, but the awards were all done and over with by 2:15, not sure why.
Entry Fee – $10 which I think is high for this show, what am I paying for?
Overall Rating:CThis show needs some help, I realize it’s hard to put on a show but they’ve been doing this for years with one group or another taking over. While I understand the downtown businesses want us to patronize their stores, moving away from a park that is ideal for a car show isn’t the right thing to do. Also, if a show is going to be held downtown anywhere the streets need to be blocked off so traffic cannot get through. More than once today I saw cars confused by all the classic cars parked in the road (due to lack of space) and trying to turn and move around to get out. As a car owner, this makes me very nervous. Stoughton should be able to have a good show without so much trouble. This show should be moved back to the park where it started and belongs.

It seems for most of the awards they gave away the presenter had a story about them…. 10 years ago I drove him up to …. 30 years ago I remember he was building the truck …. so on ….
It might be better if it was just a show and shine, and put some of the fee (5 bucks) toward door prizes (like the show in Deforest).

Sounds like I didn’t miss much. Like Ryan, I woke up and looked outside. I was too hung over from the previous night and decided to stay home and sleep instead dontknow.gif
However, I don’t feel you should have to pay a fee for a show and shine, instead I like the idea’s of donating a non-perishable food item and have local business’ sponsor door prizes, such as gift certificates to there stores, etc.
The more I go to shows lately, the less I care about winning. I wish more shows were just ‘show and shine’.
