I stopped in for a couple of hours to snap some photos and videos. I would guess there was close to 350-400 cars and an amazing amount of foot traffic.
I like the big signs for Kwik Trip and Kohls good eye catchers and they will last forever in photos:
Plenty of shade:
There was a Germlin in the park (a friendly one):

Cool little instance shade thingy:
Walk around the same vette:

I think these 2 will be at Blanchardville … pretty cool 7 foot tall retrackable display. These 2 were very very well done and everything looks very well thought out:

super cool Pontiac:
Great sign!

That ampitheatre stage is probably one of the best setups I’ve seen for an awards presentation.
June 18, 2012 at 2:38 am #40003circletrackParticipantIt took forever for that wagon to put away all the “stuff” they have for a display.. it’s a cool car and all, but I don’t care for everything around it. The surfboard sign is cool, I’ll admit

Nice show, some really nice cars, great setting.

For the previous 18 years, the show was run (very successfully) by a local police organization. I don’t know why there was a change in organizers. It was obvious that some changes had been made (new classes added, other classes expanded or dropped). All in all, I thought it was a well run show with a few hiccups (tickets to buy food, absence of Ken’s Big Bar, etc.). But, the car count was close to being a record at 375 cars this year.

I have had at least a dozen people who thanked me for writing the review like I did and felt the same way about it. Good to know people actually read what we write on this site, thats awesome.

My thought is this, maybe to make it eaiser for the judges to find the cars in the class they are doing is to have a map attached to the registration to mark where you are parked, this would help so people would have to go up and tell them “hey i am over here and have not seen a judge yet”. Over all i think it’s a great show. in a beutiful park.

Pardeeville does something similiar on the back of their registration/judging sheet form. The car/truck owners indicate “with an X” where they are located in the park, on the form, making it easier to find individual cars.
June 26, 2012 at 2:38 pm #39998Eclipse_TunerParticipantThe judges spend a decent amount of time at my car. I do know that they walk the park in the morning to try to get a heads up on where cars in their classes are parked…Also, after talking to Brian, they were trying to speed up judging due to the huge amount of cars (double from the year before).
Not that that justifies or is an excuse…but things do happen.
