Taxes Going Up

I see the Madison School Board raised taxes $170 on the average house in Madison, MATC will be about $30 – $40, city of Madison 5%, Dane County a smaller increase, etc. When is it going to end.

It will end when they find a better method of funding education. Stop giving the farmers and business a free ride. Let everyone pay a share for education and not just property owners.
In Maryland everyone…and I mean everyone pays 1% over and above their Federal and State taxes to fund education and the property taxes stay at the same rate for years at a time.
Think about it.. if you make 50K per year, you pay a flat $500 as a county tax and it’s done….everybody pays their share and it doesn’t burden just one group and go up and up every year.
