The Cars Time Forgot Car Show – 2015 Delavan WI

I loaded up and went to Delavan WI today for their show. They knew they were going to have a record number of cars due to Dennis Gage filming an episode of My Classic Car there today.

I rolled in at about 8 and I was car number 465 … All of of the lake shore parking was gone so they took me to the back grassy lot … I left at about noon and they were closing in on about 800 cars.

No clue if there were classes, but I did see the awards table.

It was great to see lots of cars I have never seen before …

I rolled in a little before 8:00 and was car number 511. Someone who rolled in shortly after me (in my group) was car number 381. With goodie bags going to the first 400, you think this would be a little more organized?

I could have parked in the front, but was with a group of 12, so to park us together we were directed to the back grassy lot. I thought this was very generous and accommodating.

The weather started out foggy, which turned to overcast with a breeze to sunny and humid towards the end. The location is very unique, on the grounds of a hotel with a nice lake for a backdrop.

There were no classes. There was a table full of awards and it appeared that they just walked around and picked the cars they liked. They picked one car in our group, a 1970 Challenger, and told him straight out that only older cars were considered. The quality of cars was pretty top notch, so I am sure the “pickers” (I will not call them judges) probably had to thin it out somehow. If this is their decision, it’s all good. Could not have been easy picking out 25 or so cars out of close to 800.

I would call this a very nice show and one I may go to again. The people hosting the show were very nice and very accommodating. They even thanked our group for bringing a nice bright selection of color.

I would give this show a 3 1/2 to 4 star rating. If you have not attended this show, I highly recommend it.
