The Stargate SG-1 Season 8 DVD Box Set came out this week, but upon closer inspection a problem was discovered: The episode Threads, which was 90 minutes long (a special episode) is cut down to only 1 hour on the DVD! 😯 Why would MGM do this on the DVDs? At any rate check here for more updates:

Remember that whole snaffu for the Back to the Future dvds??? Supposedly the widescreen editions of BTF 2 had an improper transfer and cut off part of the movie. I own the dvds but I couldn’t tell you if mine were the corrected release or original “goofs”. Frankly I could care less since the picture and sound are superb and since its not Star Trek or Star Wars I’m not obsessed with EVERY SINGLE FRAME

This is a big deal though because Threads is such an important episode, IMO its one of the best of the series.
