Very Annoying

When you buy ground beef or sirloin at the store I find it very annoying when the butcher hides the old meat in the middle. I think they take classes in putting a thin layer of fresh meat around the older meat. The one store in Madison that I have never had this happen is Knoche’s on Old Middleton Road. Meat has obviously gone up in price allot and I have no interest in paying for old meat.

Have others had this same problem?

I think I know what you are referring to, but the cause is not a mix of old meat and new meat. When packaged, the ground meat in the center doesn’t get any oxygen and stays a brownish purple instead of turning bright red. This link might help explain.
