What do you want in a car club?

As some of you know, there was a falling out within the Road Apples Car Club last summer, which was unfortunate all the way around. A new committee was formed and is making great strides within the club. For those that have been in a club before or have been interested in one ~ what would you like to see in a club? I know some complained there was too many things on the calendar and the club was expected to be in many directions, but I’m also wondering if just going to shows together and hosting a weekly cruise night is more than enough for some? Give me some advice here, what do you think?

Well one thing I like to see is good organization, which it sounds like you have with this committee. Also I like to have a full calendar of shows – which we are attempting to do here – not a ton of mandatory club meetings but car shows where the club will be represented. I’ll add some more in later, lets see what other feedback users have

Same thing happened w/ two AACA chapters here in IL.

That is a good question. Probably in most clubs a minority of the members do most if not all of the work. It would nice to have most of the members involved. I will do some thinking on this question also.
