Why does rain make people stupid when driving???

We just had a sizeable rain go through Southeastern Michigan. On the radio they had all the traffic updates during rush hour. Lots of slowdowns and accidents.

What is it about rain or snow that makes people act stupid on the road???

JUST SLOW DOWN!!!

I mean I hit a patch of really heavy rain and had to slow to 20mph on a 40mph road. No biggie, I got through it in a few minutes. Whats so hard about paying more attention??

Don’t forget about the first snow either. Everybody freaks out. Half an inch and you have a hundred wrecks. Jeesh……
