As it was mentioned, a winter project thread would be a good way to fire up some discussion. So I will start.
Our 1961 Nash Metropolitan Convertible is coming in finally to get re-restored. It was put on the road in 1990 and had about 12 years of good service by my Father. Around year 12 the frame, body started showing wear. The B pillar area where the door shuts is sagging and needs to be redone. Also, brakes, clutch, new hood and a bunch of body work will be done. I’ll get some pictures posted today.
Next, I am seriously considering taking my 320i and going back to autocrossing next year. It will need some suspension work, engine work, brake work and a repaint with proper BMW colors. I miss it, and didn’t realize how much I did until after the weekend at RA. I miss road racing more but financially this is a better way to go right now. My wife actually put the fire in my belly since she tagged along with me to RA and really enjoyed herself there. She had asked why I stopped racing and I explained it wasn’t just because my friend stopped and I lost my team I crewed chief for it was for the kids and her since it took up so much time. That was when she mentioned the kids are old enough that she could take them with to watch and if I got back into racing she could camp with them at the track.
If that isn’t a green light to get stupid I don’t know what is.
