people sure were Ziebart happy back in the 80’s, when I got my car, the dealership sprayed the whole engine bay, shock towers firewall everything, even a part of the radiator was sprayed. Being a show car I had to remove it. I first tryed gas that did not work, second I tryed a torch that did not work, finally I got fryed at it, and purchased some aircraft remover, that removed it in 5 minutes, it just melted it to tar. but then I had to Respray the engine bay with the motor in the car still, (long story) it turned out great actually, there are a few spots that I could have done better on.

below is the final product, I have no before picture, I wish I did. I must say I am quite proud of my home done painting. the 81 2.2’s were blue and that was the only year.

Engine looks great, where do you get the aircraft remover?

I got mine at oriley auto parts. I think it was about 9.00 some where around there. they got the spray kind as well. It even took the ziebart off the plastic fender wells. Powerful stuff. just wear eye protection and do not breathe it in. Stuff burns.
