The prices were up a little today. Many more $100,000 plus cars. I was surprised that a couple AAR ‘Cudas went for less than $100,000 when they are on ebay at $125,000 or more every month. I was shocked that the Beverly Hillbillies truck went for big bucks. I wouldn’t have paid over $20.
I was also surprised at Dyno Don Nicholson’s Mustang 2 going for $85,000 when Grumpy Jenkins’ Vega went for close to $500,000 last year.
jonmandudeParticipantNail on the head. The AVERAGE CEO salary in this country is over $18M. EIGHTEEN MILLION DOLLARS!!!??? Yet the average income is less than $30K. That is a huge problem.
I am for a trickle down theory…with rules.
Here is my idea;
No CEO can make more than $300K/year until EVERYONE in the company makes over $50K/Year. Can’t make over $400K until everyone makes over $75K. Can’t make over $500K until all make $100K and so on and so on.
The money has to start to get beyond the top 1%. A CEO making multi millions while his employees are struggling to make ends meet is absolutely mad.
I know it is an idea along the lines of socialism but…

Why is our government spending our tax dollars to look into the steroid use in baseball? For crying out loud!!! Our economy is going into the toilet, gas prices are redicuilous, housing is entering a major slump, we have no affordable health insurance, we are in a war that is going nowhere (Viet Nam anyone?), and the government is worried about adults putting chemicals in their bodies in a sport that is for entertainment? COME ON!!!

1) Some idiot decided to steal a neon Capital beer sign from Bourbon Street last Saturday night.
First let me say that stealing is one of the lowest things that you can do on this planet, right behind lying and anything negative towards women and children.
But what makes this idiot even more “special” is that he/she brought the sign back when they realized that they broke it. WTF?
2) What is with feminists and African/American radicals? They want equality and they “say” that they don’t want the presidential race to be about gender or ethnicity, yet they immediately back a candidate based on gender or race and ask that people do the same. Hypocritical?I feel that we will never have equality, of gender or race, until they stop using it as a tool to persuade or a weapon.
3) And finally this one is personal. Quaker Steak and Lube is trying to find someone to replace what I did with the car cruise ins. That is fine, and I wish them luck, but they have gone to a friend on mine (who once worked at QS&L but quit by no call/no show) thinking he could draw from my group of friends. That is low. Why not just admit that you made a mistake?jonmandudeParticipantI have been amazed at some of the prices this year. Many of them seem to be well below what they would have been last year. There hasn’t been many over $100,000. It seemed last year that almost everything on the third day was near or above that. I was happy to see a Torino get some decent money, but I was surprised that a Talledega did not. It is going to be interesting
jonmandudeParticipantThat is one of my dream cars. I doubt if it is one of 13. They made many more 426 wedge Belvederes than that. They made very few LIGHTWEIGHT Belvederes with aluminum front ends but I doubt that is one. Maybe he means one of 13 with the Hurst trans and a Max wedge? That is possible
jonmandudeParticipantYuck. I hate dealer expos. The only thing I would be interested in is the new Nissan GT-R, Chevrolet Camaro, or Dodge Challenger. But I doubt that the Madison market will draw them.
jonmandudeParticipantAnd $280,000.00 for a Super Bee? Good luck.
jonmandudeParticipantWhen will people learn to include pictures in their ads? I had, I think, close to 18 pictures of the Challenger when I sold it. Pictures are sooooo important.
jonmandudeParticipantSomeone pointed out to me yesterday that it is funny that now that the Patriots aren’t taping other teams’ signals, their games have been closer. Makes you wonder?
It will be Pats and Pack on Feb 3. Let’s just hope that San Diego can hurt some people like they did to Indy.
jonmandudeParticipantYes, Number 1 I believe. Number 2 went on ebay. It will be interesting to see what number one brings.
jonmandudeParticipantThere is a reporter, a female reporter, who absolutely rips Hillary for the “manipulative” crying.
The article I am referring to was in The Huffington Post. The reporter is Vicki Iovine. The Article is titled “There’s No Crying In Baseball – Or the Race to be President”
jonmandudeParticipantThe coverage doesn’t tell the voting public anything about the candidates or their platforms. Why does any informed, or potentially informed, voter watch the poll coverage?
Why? Because the general public isn’t informed and never will be. They just want to be part of whoever wins so they can feel like they mattered. They can say “I voted for the winner”. That is why they have entrance polls to help undecided voters decide and influence them. It is one more joke of the media.
jonmandudeParticipantQuote:I’ve got news for the anti’s, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. If you take the right to bear arms away from us the criminals will still kill people and they will still aquire guns.
I’m also sick of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton playing the race card anytime they can – SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU AND GO AWAY!!! I won’t discuss Affirmitive Action because it gives undeserving people a job they do not deserve….No matter there sex or race.
Amen brother. I wonder if Jesse and Al realise that by being involved they hurt Obama more than help him.
jonmandudeParticipantWhat I have gotten from the Hot Rod site is that most people come in on Friday with the tour and leave Saturday morning to drive back home. Many do not stay for two days.
