See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

Nice to see Blue Chip could find time to take Bruce and Kathy’s car to a show for once.

I heard this show didn’t judge anything newer than 1970, any truth to that?

TBEAR, I too was in a state of dislike about the Best of Show award being presented out to the track also. Does anyone know who did recieve BOS?

    gh,

Yes, you are correct. The staff at Cindy Lou’s is more than grateful to those who bring there cars out. I wish that place was closer to home for me, I would go every week!!

That was a lot of the feedback I had recieved about this show in prior years – that local boys always win. ddhemi and I are not local and we both won, and I knew quite a few others from out of town that also won awards. Yes, the awards presenters did seem to know a lot of winners, this is true.

At the end of the day, I will say that I don’t think I had seen so many ’68-72 Chevelles in one place at the same time!! They were all very nice cars, though my favorite was the red ’70 SS next to the #3 Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo :)

No shows for me this weekend, I’ve been to that Don Miller show twice and seen Best of Show go to a late model Corvette, and haven’t went for probably 4-5 years now. If I do anything, I’ll probably go to the DQ in Monroe on Saturday night for there cruise-in.

Plus its my weekend to work :(

I plan to no longer attend QSL due the treatment a few of my friends recieved there a couple weeks ago. I do not understand how you let modified imports in all spring and summer thus far, then tell them “You can’t park in here, this is for show vehicles only.”

When jonmandude was relieved of his position there, I felt he got the short end of the stick. But, because of me moving and wanting to do something car related, QSL was my only choice and Thursday was a good night for me. However, with recent events, I feel they are now about the almighty dollar and not about the cars and the people who enjoy them.

Here’s my Cliffnotes why I don’t like QSL:

    -I think the food sucks

-The outside bartenders have given me attitude on more than one occasion when I’ve been more than happy to pay $2 for a soda. And with that, I’m not going to tip on a soft drink that cost them .25 cents.

-The last time I was there and did have dinner with my friends, the waitstaff screwed up the check. Then another friend of mine waited 90 minutes for his family’s order. They were told twice by two different waitresses that there food was coming next, then the manager came over to explain to him that there order was lost, dinner was being prepared now, and there meal was on the house. He was not happy about being lied to, and there is no excuse for it – if they would’ve admitted losing his order first, he would’ve been fine with it. I cant say I blame him.

QSL is not a good fit for me, so I’ll graciously file the divorce papers :)

Edgerton for me also. Never been to this show, and have heard mixed reviews, but I’m not going to waste my time going to Reedsburg.

I went to this tonight. It was a small gathering, but fun. The pizza is very good, and its a clean, smoke free establishment. Its a tad small, but it was accomodating to the amount of people in attendance. I’d like to see this take off, I think it could turn into a good thing for a lot of the locals out this way :)
