Quote:Would anyone like to try and defend this statement? “If we had the production of all of those products back in the US, the consumer would be buying them at more or less the same price”. Opinions anyone?Well, I’m a firm believer in buying American. I would have no problem paying a lil more knowing I’m supporting a company thats based in the USA and hires Americans or legal immigrants in there manufacturing facilities. Those who work for large companies based in the USA have to pay the same taxes I do, and I feel that if I bought from them, they would buy from me

Quote:Well, it has been going on forever … only it used to be called “Key Man Insurance”… the idea was to give the company some compensation for the loss of one of its key players. However, it seems to have been abused and gotten totally out of control. I say … restrict it in some way to the key players and make sure that the estate of the individual also benefits from it. For sure, the insured employee has to be aware of it.+1, as long as the company pays the premium and the beneficiary gets the payment.

Quote:Paypal has quite a business going there, talk about a rip-off with the fees they charge.I try to avoid using my Paypal when I can. When you accept money thru paypal, they get a cut. If you’re selling on Ebay you almost have to charge more to make up for what you pay out. I’ve been paying cash for everything for some time, its easier to not spend it when you don’t have it. Most things I buy on Ebay now I will sends a money order for, and I won’t accept paypal for payments. Cash is king!
moparkid25ParticipantYes, this weather does suck royally. I don’t remember when I turned the furnace on last year, but i know it wasn’t the first week of October  Hopefully we will get a nice Indian Summer in the next two weeks and get that last bit of warm weather before winter.
On a side note, I talked with a friend of mine in Wyoming. Today he had a high of 28 degrees and snow in the forecast. He asked me to tell Al Gore to stick his global warming if he was still prowling around Madison
As far as a cruise, the Rallye Bleu Mont is Sunday. This is put on by George Stauffer & Steve Grundahl here in Blue Mounds. I’ll see if DDHemi and get more info and post it!
moparkid25ParticipantThe media will make the cop out to be the bad guy, and the criminal will become a victim.
Statistics prove that crime rates are lower in states that have a concealed-carry law, I wish the WI legislation would remove there heads from there crevices and pass that bill here. Those who commit crimes may think twice about what they do and who the **** with. That cop did his job, sometimes deadly force is neccesary to serve and protect.

Quote:My main point is why are they buying land when they are also making employees take pay cuts. Land is not a necessity in these times. I haven’t had a raise either in 6 or 7 years.I agree with you. If county employees are to take a paycut to balance the county budget, the county shouldn’t buy anything whether it be land, highway dept trucks, etc. Hell, the county supervisors/employees that drive state vehicles home should have to drive there own vehicle to work and burn there own gas.
moparkid25ParticipantMcCarthy met with Mark Tauscher this morning. I bet you see him back after the bye week.
moparkid25Participantdesperate times call for desperate measures. Having a job with a paycut is better than not having a job at all.
I’m more worried about the property tax increase that Falk will implement whether the county employees take a paycut or not…
moparkid25ParticipantWords can’t describe the smile on my face right now
Its about time Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy get there asses handed to them. GB has no offensive line, and Rodgers will continue to play the game on his ass if they don’t do something about it.
Go Vikings, #4….and 0!

I have to go Rio tomorrow, its my Grandma’s 80th birthday.

The economy will still be weak in 2016.I agree. I wouldn’t want the Olympic Games anywhere near here, especially since they were thinking of having the Mountain Bike course at Tyrol Basin

Quote:I’ve always had the belief of property owners rights trump state rights. If they are going to force the person to sell, it should be well above assessed value. A persons property is more than just land, it is a emotional attachment and not something to be taken away at a whim.
Agreed. Not only will the state attempt to take land, they will tax every one of us to pay for it, whether you use it or not
