    I was just wondering.

On one of the other forums that I frequent (Vintage Mustang Forums, VMF), a poster was ranting and raving about buying and selling on craigslist. Low and behold, I find that we have one here locally.

I found a 1967 Ford Galaxie convertible in Montello that I have taken an interest in. Allowing for the seller to contact me this weekend, I plan to drive up and take a look at it.

I haven’t spent alot of time on craigslist, but so far, I am pretty impressed with what I have seen.

I like the 3 accent pieces on the sides:

Its always interesting to see how they can vary things like that to add a little more eyecandy to the cars

I did call on the car, and I found out that it is a only a project vehicle at this time, and not driveable. The original 390 V8 is out of the car and available, but was replaced with the bigger motor. I did not drive up to Montello to look at the car. My wife said that if I bring home another old car, she is going to divorce me. Gosh, I am going to miss her icon_cheesygrin.gif

    Just Kidding, of course.

here is a link to a recent 1947 super 8 that didn’t meet the reserve at 15k.

and here is a 1949 super 8 that sold for about 6K:

If it was originally from AZ hopefully it hasn’t been up here for too many winters. From the rust on the side it must of been sitting there for a while. Interesting car though. $8000 seems a little steep though.

I didn’t end up looking at it. The day at contacted him he had just received an offer on it. I found that the engine wasn’t original either. At $14500 and with all the work that needs to be done I think it was a little pricey.

Amigo2K is right on the mark about the Mustang Coupe. With the amount of rust on the outside of the car, can you imagine what the frame, chassis components, and floor pans must look like? Even in “garage queen” condition, this price would be a bit much for a coupe.
