What’s the going rate for gas in your part of the world? Currently this is what I am seeing in the Houston area.

    87 octane – $2.09/gallon
    91 octane – $2.15/gallon
    93 octane – $2.22/gallon

I filled up last Thursday and it cost me $29.00 to fill up the tank in the Mustang, which is the highest I have ever paid. The way my motor has been tuned I have no choice but to use 93 octane. When I filled up that day there was a Hummer H2 behind me and I can tell from the owner’s face he was dreading the final tally. He filled up on 87 octane and when everything was said and done he had to fork over $50.00.

The sad thing was that he will probably have to fill up again in a couple of days.

    Prices from Bath, United Kingdom

    (1 US gallon = 3.7854118 liters)

    95 octane (Standard grade)
    $6.09 per US gallon (84.9p/litre)

    97 octane (Esso Super Grade)
    $6.31 per US gallon (87.9p/litre)

98/99 octane (Average Super Grade/New Super Grade)
    $6.45 per US gallon (89.9p/litre)

I use the 97 octane since that is what the Esso near me sells. It’s Esso’s “super” grade, but is is slightly cheaper than normal “super” grade. The new 99 octane fuel is being trialled right now in certain areas and will become available nationally if it is a success.

    All octane numbers are RON.

The last time I filled my car up it cost me £54.50 – that’s $103.28. My Almera is meant to have a 60 litre tank, but it’s more like 63 when you run it completely dry…

You guys are very, very lucky to pay so little for your petrol… icon_sad.gif

Milwaukee/Racine area just starting to drop to those prices. Local station was $2.28 for 87 octane when I went to work and $2.21 when I came home. Haven’t priced racing fuel lately.

Late last week the price of oil dipped below $50 per barrel which explains the brief price drop.

We’re lucky for any little relief we get!! GTO Man already posted for Madison so I can’t.

We should be very appreciative of what we pay like Cobra said, I can’t imagine paying $6 a gallon!!! icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif

    Cobra,
How many miles per gallon do you get?

    Memphis Tennessee

    87 octane – $2.11/gallon
    89 octane – $2.21/gallon
    91 octane – $2.31/gallon

As for $6.00 a gallon in europe, a lot of that is taxes. Imagine no or little income tax in the states and $6 a gallon.
