Hanley Implement in Sun Prairie

I see Hanley Implement in Sun Prairie is closing shop after 80 years. Another 30 to 40 job losses. This area has lost many long time businesses in the last couple of years.

This was quite shocking. we went by on Friday night when they were putting all the signs in the windows and on the building. I’ll admit I haven’t been in the store for years and I’m thinking having Menards/Home Depot move just a few minutes down the road didn’t help business at all. I’m originally from Sun Prairie and can remember when Hanleys was THE PLACE for everything. It’s another shame due to the economy and yes this area has been hit hard.

I also know the planned Main Street Construction did nothing to help ease their pain and wonder what some of the other businesses are planning on doing being they are located so close to the road (Dairy Queen, etc.)
