Hybrid Cars.

Looking at the hybrid cars I see on the road, they are boring and ugly. But as long as they get great gas mileage…

Their mileage is unbelieveable! A friend of mine said he works with a guy who bought a Toyota hybrid and he’s getting 66 miles/gallon in the city! icon_eek.gif

There are a lot of those around here too.

I’ll never drive a little shoebox any more. I had
a VW Rabbit and that was too small.

My Dodge van gets 14 mpg so I drive it only
when I need to (and I do need a big van).

My Dakota gets over 20 mpg which is much better!

Locomotives are diesel/electric hybrids and they are
extremely efficient. There’s no reason why a car
can’t be as efficient as well.

I still like steam, but not with a large boiler. I think
a turbine with many SMALL boilers mounted around it
might be a solution.

Yep, that’s GREAT mpg!!!

But we went through all of this in the 70’s. The VW Rabbit
diesel was getting super mpg at that time. A modern diesel
should be getting even better mpg today.

I agree, but then they came out with gas guzzling SUVs and no one was concerned about MPG anymore.

Which doesn’t make sense.

The Ford Excursion, Chevy Suburban, Hummer, etc, is
VERY popular around here.

Leadfoots are plentiful, as if gas was free!!!

They are mortgaged to the hilt. They lease everything
and own nothing.
