    Cummins layoffs hit Stoughton

    The drumbeat of layoffs has hit the Cummins Emissions Solutions plant in Stoughton, the former Nelson Industries.

    About 15 engineers and sales professionals were let go there this week as part of a larger cutback throughout Cummins’ global operations, said spokesman Mark Land.

    Woodbridge Corp. in Brodhead, which makes fabricated rubber products, said it will shut down its Molded Foam business about April 10, affecting 99 employees, including 73 hourly workers and 26 salaried employees.

    Spuncast, Inc., of Watertown said the unexpected termination of contracts with Caterpillar and other principal clients resulted in 30 layoffs as of Wednesday.

    Exopack, LLC, in Tomah said the long-term layoff of 28 employees will start about April 6 as it discontinues its Printed In-Line Extrusion Department.

    No, and that’s very scary…

    My employer has laid off 10 people or so in the last couple weeks… I have my fingers tightly crossed it doesn’t continue. I bring the money into the company so hopefully I’m safe for now.

    MADISON, Wis. — A Madison computer technology plant will shut down in April, resulting in about 62 layoffs.

    The state Department of Workforce Development said on Monday it received the notification from Emerson Network Power Embedded Computing, of Tempe, Ariz.

    The company reported the closing of the Madison plant means the layoffs will start April 6 and continue through April 20.

    Telemarketing firm Sitel laying off 82

    In a notice sent to the Department of Workforce Development, outsourcing and telemarketing firm Sitel said it is laying off 82 people in its Madison office on Deming Way, and that those layoffs are likely to be permanent.
